Faculty may use the Registration Override Exclusion Request to prevent students from submitting override forms through the Office of the Registrar’s online electronic workflow system. Excluding your assigned course sections from the online form system might be desirable when, for example, you no longer wish to allow late registrations into a class or to permit students to bypass course prerequisites. Students will receive a message while attempting to complete an online override form that “the instructor is no longer accepting [override] forms for this course. The Registration Override Exclusion Request may also be used to reactivate course sections if they were previously excluded.
The exclusions may be applied to all course sections you are assigned to teach, to all sections of a particular course number you teach, or to a specific course section (i.e. CRN) you teach. Exclusions will apply to only the course section(s) and term specified. Requests for additional sections or terms must be submitted separately. These settings will not roll forward automatically to future terms.
Override Exclusions are available for the following electronic forms: Late Course Add, Requisite Override Enrollment, and Time Conflict Override Enrollment. You may elect to prevent submissions for one of these form types individually or for all three types collectively. We cannot accommodate requests to exclude two of the form types while allowing submissions for a third type. Similarly, when reactivating course sections to receive student submissions again, you are opting to allow all three form types to be submitted. We cannot reopen the form for one form type and not the others.
Please allow two business days for a Registration Override Exclusion Request to be processed. You will receive an email from the Registrar’s Office confirming the exclusion is in place.
