Fall 2020 Grade Mode - The Academic Senate recently approved a policy that would allow a pass/no pass option for all undergraduate courses and a satisfactory/unsatisfactory option for graduate courses. The policy allows undergraduate students to make updates to their grade modality through Friday, December 11 at 11:59 PM and the graduate policy allows students to make updates through Monday, January 4th.
Keep in mind, students can switch back and forth as many times as they chose before the deadline, so instructors should continue to grade based on a letter grade. Faculty can see the student’s elected option in real time using the Mid/Final Grade tool within CatCourses. The grade modality the student selected will be displayed under the Grade Type column.

Undergraduate Students - The grade of 'Pass' is awarded to undergraduate students for work in courses that would receive a letter grade of C- or better.
