How are Registration Appointment Times Assigned?
Registration appointments are assigned based on the amount of earned and in-progress units a student has at that time. For transfer credit to be included in Fall 2025 assignments, students should have official transcripts submitted to the Office of the Registrar by February 15, 2025.
A registration appointment will not be changed after it is assigned. This includes instances where transcripts eligible for transfer credit review are received after a registration appointment has been assigned. More information about registration priority can be found in the catalog.
When are Registration Appointment Times Available?
Appointment times are available in October for spring registration, February for summer registration, and March for fall registration, approximately 2 to 3 weeks before registration begins.
Registration appointments for Fall 2025 are available for review in My Registration located in the My Merced portlet of connect.ucmerced.edu.
Check for Registration Holds
A registration hold is placed on your record to prevent registration. You may view your holds in My Merced. The types of holds that may appear include:
- Financial- In most cases, financial holds may be paid in cash or by check at the Cashier's Office next to the Students First Center. They may also be paid online through MyBill.
- Non-financial- You must clear any non-financial holds with the administrative office that imposed it.
- Advising- In some cases, you may find that you are required to visit with an advisor, due to special circumstances or concerns about your academic performance.
A detailed list of holds is available here.
Registration Pause
During spring and fall registration cycle all continuing student registration activity, including waitlist, will be paused when new students can register. For Fall 2025 registration, the pause will begin mid June.
