MyDegreePath (Advisors) – How to Access
Overview
Advisors access MyDegreePath (MDP) to run and review student Degree Audits and support advising. Planner is currently not enabled for any users.
Who can access
- Academic advisors and designated staff with approved permissions.
- If you believe you should have access but do not, submit the Systems Access Request Form (E-Services) and notify the Registrar’s MDP contact (Rena Schneider) so we can track it.
- Go to connect.ucmerced.edu.
- Open MyDegreePath.
- Search for or select the student, then run a Declared audit or a What-If audit as needed.
If you don’t see MyDegreePath
- Use the Connect search bar to look for “MyDegreePath.”
- Confirm you’re logged in with your UC Merced account (not a personal account).
- If it still doesn’t appear, complete the Systems Access Request Form (E-Services) and contact Rena.
Session timeouts & best practices
- Close inactive tabs and sign out when you’re done (shared offices, FERPA).
- Run a fresh audit after any registration or record change before advising the student.
- Saved audits auto-delete weekly; export a PDF if you need a record for your file.
Browser support
- Use a current version of Chrome or Edge.
- If pages don’t load, try a private/incognito window, then clear cache and cookies.
Troubleshooting
- Audit won’t run: Refresh, try a private window, and run again. If it persists, contact Rena with the exact error text and timestamp (one student per example).
- Data looks stale: Re-run the audit. Confirm the student’s program/minor/emphasis and catalog year are correct.
- Planner references: Planner features are not enabled; ignore any Planner language you may see in screenshots or legacy materials.
Don’t see MyDegreePath? Requesting system access
If MyDegreePath doesn’t appear in Connect after you sign in, request access via E-Services:
- Go to Systems Access Request Form (E-Services).
- Select MyDegreePath (and any other needed applications), include your role and department, and provide supervisor approval if required.
- After submitting, notify the Registrar’s MDP contact (Rena Schneider) with your request details so we can track it.
Tip: After access is granted, sign out and back in at connect.ucmerced.edu. If it still doesn’t appear, try a private window, then contact Rena.
Support & escalation
- Start with: Registrar MDP contact (Rena Schneider) for triage.
