MyDegreePath (Student) – Who Can Use It and When

The MyDegreePath Audit is available to:

  • All currently enrolled undergraduate students
  • New undergraduate students who have submitted their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
  • Graduate students (audit functionality may vary by program)

When Can Students Access Their Audit?

New First-Year Students:

First-year students will only see courses in their audit if they’ve received college credit (e.g., AP, IB, dual enrollment). Their audit becomes more complete once they’re enrolled in UC Merced courses.

New Transfer Students:

Transfer credit may appear in your MyDegreePath audit based on the information you reported in your UC application. However, only official transfer credit, added after Undergraduate Admissions completes its full evaluation of your transcripts, is applied to your official student record and used to meet prerequisite and degree requirements.

Once official credit is posted, your academic record may be updated to reflect:

  • Transferability rules
  • Credit limitations (e.g., subject or unit caps)
  • Duplicate or mutually exclusive coursework

These updates align with UC Merced’s official transfer credit policies and may result in the removal of previously listed coursework to ensure compliance with systemwide and campus-specific guidelines.

Graduate Students:

Graduate audits are available but may be used differently depending on the program. Students should review their audit with their graduate program advisor to confirm requirements and discuss any exceptions.

Why Check Your Audit Early and Often?

Even if your audit is still being built or finalized, it’s a good idea to:

  • Review your major and catalog year
  • Look for missing or misapplied courses
  • Bring any concerns to your academic advisor
