MyDegreePath (MDP) - FAQ

FAQ

What is MyDegreePath, and where can I find my audit?
MyDegreePath is your personalized ***degree audit and schedule planning*** tool at UC Merced. It shows your progress toward degree requirements based on your catalog year, including completed, in-progress, and transfer credits. You can access it in Connect under the "MyDegreePath" icon. The audit appears with your major, catalog year, cumulative GPA, and requirement sections. Learn how to read your audit.
How do I run a new audit or view past audits?
On the Audits tab in MyDegreePath, click **Request New** or **Run Declared Program** to generate your latest audit. Use **Manage** to browse and reopen audits from the past few days. Note: audit files are deleted weekly, so save a PDF if needed. More details.
What is a "What-If Audit"?
A What-If Audit lets you test how your coursework applies if you change your major, add a minor, or select a different catalog year—**without making actual changes to your record**.
How do I build a schedule using Schedule Builder?
Schedule Builder lets you select courses from your audit (or enter manually), set preferences (like preferred times or instructors), and auto-generate possible schedules. You can compare up to 10 options, block off time for other commitments, and adjust preferences to tune results. *Note*: it does not register you—registration still happens via your student portal. See full Schedule Builder FAQ.
How do I get my transfer courses to count in my major?
Once official transcripts and test scores (AP/IB) are evaluated (takes ~2–5 weeks), transfer credit appears in your audit. If they’re not applying to your major as expected, your academic advisor can review the situation and submit an Academic Records Review to the Registrar’s Office for adjustment. More on transfer processingHow to request a review.
What is articulation, and where can my transfer courses be placed on my audit?
Articulation is the process of matching transfer courses to UCM courses or degree requirements. Your evaluated transfer courses appear under the "Transfer Evaluations" tab in MyDegreePath (starting from Summer 2016 onward). Placement depends on how they align with course or requirement equivalencies. View How to Read Your Audit.
Why can't I register for a class even though it's showing on my Audit?
Registration can fail despite meeting audit requirements due to system restrictions like unmet co-requisites, major/class-level restrictions, missing linked sections (e.g., lecture + discussion), or full capacity. Check the specific registration error message for details, then consult your instructor or advisor. Full list of error descriptions.
How do I interpret the information on my Audit?
Your Audit includes charts (unit and GPA progress), course history, and status icons (✔ complete, […] in progress, X unfulfilled). Clicking the question mark icon opens the Legend, explaining icons, special codes (like IP—in progress), and grade notations. View with legend details.
My audit doesn't seem correct. What should I do?
First, re-run your audit. If the issue persists, talk to your academic advisor; they may submit an Academic Records Review (Request to Registrar) or consult the Registrar for corrections.
What are the upcoming changes to MyDegreePath?
A system upgrade is scheduled for **August 14, 2025**, with a freeze on updates and edits from **August 8–14**. During the freeze, you can still run audits and use Schedule Builder, but exceptions or record changes may not process until after the update.
